On Wednesday morning ,the eighth of September 2021,the Governor Kirinyaga County,Anne Waiguru speaking on Citizen Television’s show,Day Break,revealed that if today she vied for the County boss seat through the Jubilee Party ticket it would be difficult to still maintain office. She said,people have lost faith in the Party,“the truth of the matter is that defending my seat if the polls were held today would be difficult,and that is the truth of the matter. Jubilee needs to look internally at its issues in order to be acceptable to the people at Mt Kenya. ”

The minji minji County boss,said that Jubilee Party needs some renovation,a little bit more of beautification. She added that the people needed to feel like they are part of it. She said,the party needs to be taken back to the people so that they have a sense of belonging . However, according to her,the party stands a chance based on its success in matters infrastructure, resources and networks.

On whether she shall join the UDA party Governor Anne Waiguru,was not clear. She said that she is not shutting doors on anything and instead remaining open for possibilities as politics is a game that keeps changing with each minute.

On matters the Head of State and his Deputy’s row, the Governor took no side,but termed it as a sad state of affairs. She added that it is a matter that needs to be looked in to as the citizens and the political class are suffering.

The Governor Kirinyaga County,did shed light on the BBI issue. She said the Mount Kenya region was not supporting the amendment,“… I would be dishonest to say the people of Mt Kenya were behind BBI . They were not .” She said the Constitutional amendments could have favoured the electrorate . She added that the leaders should sit and re-stratigise on the BBI agenda.

The Deputy Head of State has been on the recent days publicly declaring his wealth. The most recent one following the lifestyle audit carried out by the Interior Ministry. This has led to people painting him as an honest person while others wondering if he really is a hustler.

Today,Monday 6th September 2021, the Jubilee Party secretary General,Raphael Tuju came out ,swiping on the Deputy President’s wealth issue. He said that in the year 2015 the Deputy President,was worth ksh 100million. Which has now touched the hem of Christ . Following reveals from the interior ministry,the Vice president is now worth some billions. Tuju said ,“by his own accounts ,the deputy president is on video record when he told Kenyans he is worth 100 million in 2015 . In the interverning seven years he has worked so hard in his businesses and now therefore has assets like choppers ,hotels ,and land worth billions. “

The Jubilee Party Secretary General asked the Deputy President to teach Kenyans how to quickly create and generate wealth,” May it please Deputy President ,Dr William Ruto …..to show these young people all the skills and how to acquire wealth and property in such a short time . He should teach us ,the clueless adults in this country ,how we can do the same.

The SG continued to say that other leaders are not magicians but have the capacity to learn about wealth creation. He also accused the junior boss, of blackmail. Saying the Head of State,has tried to accomadate his deputy. He said all these is fueled by the Dp’s selfish interests. On.the blackmail, he added that the Country’s Second in command should stop blackmailing Kenyans.

He said it is wrong for the Deputy President to talk ill of the first family, Kenyatta’s family because the Late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta is not here to defend himself. He said ,“as a party we are sending the Deputy President a public statement that we will not countunance ,his venturing into crossing this line of referring to the family of the Late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. He must call his goons to order ,we continue to resist the provocation luring us to go into the slimmy ,and smelly social pig sty that some of his people occupy. ”

The SG, challenged the Vice president to honestly and publicly display what he remits to the Kenya Revenue Authority,the 1.5 millions he makes from his chicken business should reflect in it as well. He added that the DP is enjoying and using resources from the same government he is criticizing and demanding.

The Deputy President together with his allies have not however,responded to these claims. This continues to show that Jubilee is on its death bed.

“Is it just coincidence, witch-hunt, or the usual attempt to shape narratives for 2022 succession politics?”
The Kirinyaga governor alleges that her office was raided by EACC officials over an issue that is totally unrelated to the comment she made about Mt Kenya region needing to strategize. This is after the verdict that rendered the BBI null and void. No sooner had she posted the post than her office was ambushed by the officials… “Last time I said on BBI let me keep quiet a bit. I immediately, EACC raided my office….”

She was summoned over a ksh52m payment allocated to her by her county Assembly for a pending bill that was acquired in 2010. Her facebook post read, “… media alerts on an alleged payment of 52m (allocated by County Assembly – for a pending bill that was acquired in 2010, for subdivision, allocation and cadastral mapping of over 7000 acres of South Ngariama Settlement Scheme),”

Following the failing of the BBI, Waiguru said that Mount Kenya region leaders were open for talks with everyone willing and that they were not tied to one person. She added that they needed people with tangible solutions to empower them during the negotiation,”We are looking for tangible solutions to empower our people, which will be presented on the negotiation table.” This was on 22nd August 2021 in Laikipia County where central Kenya leaders had met on a Saturday, a day after the BBI verdicts.

She says that as she was looking into the political way forward, the EACC officials summoned her. “…Recently I said am introspecting on the political way forward, and again immediately I get EACC summons complete with all the subtle threatening inflexibilities,” said Waiguru.

The ‘Minji Minji‘ Kirinyaga Governor says that the EACC knows that the allocation to the schemes is yet to be paid but they still bombarded her office and summoned her.

The country’s second in command has for some time been the President of the Hustler Nation. Recently,the Interior Cabinet Secretary ,Fred Matiang’i came out to expose the Deputy President’s wealth. This has left many Kenyans wondering if they are truly sailing in the same boat with the Deputy President.

The Deputy President was meeting leaders from Nakuru County in his home in Karen on ,2nd August 2021 where he broke the silence. The second in command, addressing the matter ,termed it as unnecessary. He said,the revelation before the Parliament by the interior CS was not needed but they did it ,even without law,“Ile kitu kubwa walikua wanaitisha ati lifestyle audit ,wamefanya wenyewe bila hata Sheria . ”

The Deputy President also added that the audit was just three-quarters truth and that it was faulty. He denied ownership of a ranch in Laikipia ,the 6073 hectare ADC ranch. He added ,” kama Ile walisema ati Niko na 10,000 hectares huko ADC hiyo Sina watoe . Wameondoa Bouveland kwa Sababu ilikua uwongo,wametoa six-eighty pia lakini wameongeza ingine Ile so yangu lakini nitawasaidia..”

The Deputy President added the Interior Ministry seems to have missed important details concerning his wealth ,” walisahau kuweka poa shares ,Niko na shares 400,000 ya Safaricom ,wangeweka pia hiyo,na pia wangeweka kama Kuna askari wanalinda huko pia….wangesema pia huyu mtu anauza mayai 150,000 everyday ,shillingi 1.5 million,wangeweka namma hiyo wangemalizia pia na kuenda kwa bank wangaalie iko pesa ngapi na pia iko loan kiasi gani. “

The Deputy President’s lifestyle audit also got backup from his allies. Others said the audit should be extended to others. The emphasis being on the land matters. The matter concerning land,will only be confirmed by time who the land shoe fits. They added that,the audit should not just be about the Deputy President but all leaders.The Nyeri county women representative said the Deputy President is the right leader as we don’t need to be governed by a poor person.

On the defining a hustler ,the Country’s second in command ; it is not a necessarily a poor person,but one who is willing to work for the wealth. He added that ,since is not poor the war between the affluent society and the struggling wanjiku is over.

The ODM leader Raila Odinga,was yesterday ,29th August 2021 at Bible Fellowship Church in Kigumo Constituency Muranga County . The former Prime Minister was accompanied by a number of the political elite including Mp Junet Mohamed ,Nairobi Women rep Esther Passaris . Also in attendance was Royal Media’s Chairman SK Macharia. All the present public figures ,rooted for Raila Odinga ,SK Macharia added that there is need to put in more work in campaigning for the ODM leader in the region.

SK Macharia said if the elections were held today, those supporting the Deputy President in the region would come out strongly to vote him in, “kamanda and kioni don’t cheat him that the ground is okey. If we were to go and cast votes today ,those people who have shown you all madharaus including the president ndio watachukua kura .” The Chairman SK Macharia ,commended the handshake between the two : the President and ODM leader. Saying it insulated the country against possible social,economical wrangles, that followed the 2017 General elections. The handshake gave birth to peace and harmony.

The ODM leader, Raila Odinga stated that the BBI reggae was just at halftime,it is far from stopping. He added ,the BBI held a lot of benefits for the central region ,this was in the bid to lure the Central Kenya potential voters,“nimekuja mlimani kuwaambia ya kwamba nimekuja kuleta mazuri,si kudhuru nyinyi . Na vilevile kusema ni vizuri mandugu wakifanya kazi pamoja . ” The ODM leader recalled the start of the journey with the president ,that resulted in the handshake,and in return the BBI ,” niliambia Uhuru wewe uko ndani ya serikali ,Mimi Niko nje ,lakini nitakua nikikuonyesha vile tutaendesha …nitakua mshauri ,lakini tusimame na wewe mbele ya Wakenya tusalimiane. Mwingine akaona akafikiri Uhuru anataka kuunga mkono Raila.. Sasa wewe mmekua pamoja na mmezaa mtoto ,wewe ni mama ,unatoroka ,unasema mtoto si wako. ”

This visit follows claims that leaders from the Mt Kenya region who are said to be allied to the Head of State ,said trying to popularise and lure Mt Kenya voters to vote in Raila Odinga is like selling pork in a mosque. The ODM leader has however been visiting the central region,for instance in late July he was the Chief Guest at skiza thanksgiving ceremony in Gatanga Muranga County. In another occasion in Mombasa he met the leaders from the region the mentioned leader is Amos Kimunya,the national assembly majority leader.

These visits are in his attempt to lure the region members to his side ,since they have voted against him since time immemorial,they are now appearing to be moving towards the deputy president in waves . The ODM leader Raila Odinga has not yet declared formally his presidential candidature ,but there is strong reason to believe,again this will be answered by time.

The Deputy Head of State speaking today,Sunday ,29th August ,2021 in St Augustine Catholic church,Bahati Constituency ,in Nakuru County trivialized the move by the government to replace his security. This week the GSU officers were replaced with the AP officers guarding his home ,in the official residence in Karen and his home in Sugoi.

The Deputy President downplayed the matter stating that the nation should move on from it,as it conveys insignificant weight. He stated it doesn’t matter who is deployed to protect him ,what matters is that ,Kenyans are protected, ‘ hii mambo ya GSU ,AP ni mambo madogo sana tusipoteze wakati…Sina shida na AP wakikuja kusimamia Mahali naishi…wale GSU Kama kazi imepatikana ili wakenya wapate usalama wacha wasaidie wakenya pale. The Deputy Head of State,also trashed the calls to resign from the Head of State and ODM leader,Raila Odinga to quit government over his unhappiness. This he termed pure noise as he helped in forming the government and it would trouble the Kenyan voters who endured queues to vote him and his boss in. He said,” nimepewa mawaidha ,sijui nijiuzulu kuna matatizo kwa serikali….Sasa nawaambia siku niliamua kutafuta uongozi nilijua Kuna matatizo na shida ya kutatua …wakati unatafuta suluhu kama kiongozi unaweza kupata matatizo.

He added he is not interested in the supremacy battle as it benefits no common mwanachi. Today afternoon, Friday,27th August 2021, leaders from the Mt Kenya region met in a bid to reunite the region.

Information reaching us is that the Head of State allowed the Kieleweke Members of Parliament to remove SG Raphael Tuju and Vice chair Murathe. This is aimed at changing the leadership of the party. The members are to come up with names to replace the two within the next two weeks. The members also plan in re-branding the Jubilee Party.

On matters of forming an alliance, the President was non-committal. The members are not in to selling the ODM leader , Raila Odinga as their presidential candidate. They termed it impossible. In addition to this, the Head of State likened it to selling pork in a mosque. He however ,did not come out clear on his preffered candidate. He added that since he is not vying ,he will not be available for campaigns on a daily basis. In line to the campaign,despite having a big personal budget ,the Head of State said he is not planning to finance politics but will do that if he wants to.

Speaking about his Deputy,the President said ,he needs to brand his projects. Which he termed as being difficult ,based on the fact that his assistant has been launching them ,and it is hard to say they are his. He added that the Deputy President has ‘over-run ‘ his projects and legacy. A seemingly bitter Head of State hinted to be having a secret card against his deputy.

The Head of State also mentioned about judiciary. He said it was not properly constitueted . This makes it unfit to comment on an independent body,IEBC in this case.

The plot in the Ruto-resignation story keeps getting thicker. The Head of State, recently asked his deputy to resign if he was unhappy. This was followed by an uproar from the Deputy President’s allies ,and some were heard saying ,he is just being accused of unhappiness. The Orange Democratic Movement leader,Raila Odinga ,speaking to vernacular radio stations on ,Friday,27th August ,2021 also challenged the Vice president, William Ruto to resign,in case the government is causing him unhappiness. He added that,he won’t be the first to resign as a deputy president. He said that his father, the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga ,also resigned as the first deputy president. This was when he saw that he wasn’t being assigned any duties by the then President ,the late ,Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. The ODM leader said ,’ this is not the first time we are having a vice president, my father was not fired by Kenyatta. He realized that he was not being assigned duties and wrote his resignation to the president. ‘

The leader of the Orange Democratic Movement,likened the Uhuruto relationship to that of Siamase twins. Saying The Deputy Head of State can not be in government and keep fighting it whenever it favours him politically. He added that the Deputy Head of State ,only becomes a member of government for the good while the bad is Raila and Uhuru’s portion. This he said is unfair,” Yale mabaya yote ni Raila na Uhuru,but Yale mazuri Yuko ndani. Huyu ni makamu wa raisi, ni kama Siamase twins kwa Sababu walifunga ndoa ya miaka mitano. Jamaa Yuko kwa serikali lakini kila kitu anapinga.’

Speaking on matters BBI ,the former Prime Minister said that him and the Head of State agreed to accept the judgement. He however ,said that this should not bar any Kenyan from moving to court. He said that the Kenyan citizens were involved from the beginning of the process. He said ,the failure of the BBI just denies some parts of the country a share in the national cake,’ kifutiliwa mbali kwa reporti ya BBI,kunahatarisha baadhi ya maeneo mbunge kuondolewa kwa kukosa idadi ya wapigaji kura wanaohitajika….pia Kuna baadhi ya maeneo yatokosa pesa kulingana na wingi wa wapigaji kura. ” He likened the push and pull to that of the multiparty-ism. He said ,although it had been denied at first, today Kenyans enjoy its fruits.

The ODM leader asked those who were elected through the Jubilee Party and are now in the newly formed UDA to resign,terming this as hypocrisy . The legislatures to whom the shoe fits should resign and seek to be elected again under their new parties.

It must have been a tough week to the Deputy Head of State. The week started off with a dare from the Head of State daring him to quit government. Reports reaching various media houses are that there’s a change in the security manning the Deputy President’s home.

The National Police Service has however, de-emphasised the fact that the GSU officers have been withdrawan from the official Karen residence. Saying that it is a normal change and re-assignment. This aims at enhancing efficiency among the police.

The police spokesman , Bruno Shioso ,has said the the General Service Unit , popularly known as the GSU has been replaced with the Security of Government Buildings ,SGB. The spokesman’s statement read ,’ today ,26th August ,2021 ,the Security of Government Buildings SGB, has been deployed to provide general security ,to the official residence of H.E the Deputy President from the GSU ,this is a normal re-assignment of duties within the National Police Service to enhance effeciency and effectiveness .’

The spokesman added that the Presidential Escort Unit shall continue to give close protection to the Vice President.

On the other hand, David Mugonyi, the Deputy President’s communications secretary , said this operation is unlawful and that is has been extended to all Ruto’s residences . Mr Mugonyi said ,’ This morning ,the deputy president was briefed by the officer in charge of the General Service Unit attached to his official residence in Karen that he had received verbal instructions to withdraw all GSU officers effective 2:00 p.m .’

The action has been termed unlawful as per the police standing orders chapter 8 section 5(e) ,in which the GSU commandant is responsible for the security of the Head of State,His Deputy and Statehouse.
On his Facebook page, Kapsaret mp Oscar Susi, soon on the issue. He blamed the president and the interior CS, Fred Matiang’i saying “President Uhuru Kenyatta is a very petty President, but CS Matiang’i is the pettiest of all. The duo have just ordered withdrawal of all security officers manning Sugoi, Elgon View home, Karen Residence, and all other premises linked to DP Ruto,”

Nominated Senator, Millicent Omanga, also questioned the changes made on the Deputy president’s security detail days after the dare made by the president. She questioned, “So we have sunk this low?”

This is amidst daily growing rift and now row, between the President and his Deputy.
However, Boda boda youths were seen outside the DPs home in Sugoi, saying they will guard the home even when the government has withdrawn his security.

Speaking in an interview on JKL live,on 25th August 2021, The Senate majority leader ,Murkomen ,likened the first term of the Jubilee government with that of Barak Obama and the now President of the United States ,Joe Biden. He said that the two had a codial relationship in the first term. However the past four years have been frustrating to the Deputy President.

Murkomen ,who is allied to the Deputy President said that, the President has contributed to the rift between them. He said that ,the head of state has continually frustrated his deputy. He begun by suggesting a lifestyle audit during his tour to Mombasa. This was closely followed by the deputy president agreeing to a lifestyle audit . Which didn’t Materialise .

The Senator said that, the President has been trying to coarse his deputy to resign. That he can’t mention one duty in which his deputy has failed,except supporting the Building Bridges Initiative. He said that the head of state should be glad to have a sound -minded deputy. And that the BBI was not a government project.

He added that, the deputy president didn’t have roles to perform as his duties were handed over to the Interior Cabinet Secretary ,Fred Matiang’i and the principal secretary ,state department for interior , Dr Engineer Karanja Kibicho. He said that head of state should say in what way the deputy has failed him . And that the dare to resign was shocking but not surprising.

He also added that ,”even though we are in the ‘outer ring of the onion layer’, we still get access to the government information …we know that media houses that give a lot of coverage to the Dp are denied payment through the government advertisement ….let us give fair media coverage. “

On whether the Deputy President has to be president, the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator said ,‘the deputy president doesn’t to have to be president. He is just a presidential candidate with new ideas….If he doesn’t win , I’ll be standing with him ,to concede defeat and build the nation in other capacities. ‘

The Majority Senate leader added that, people in government are free to criticize the government. Criticism makes the government better . He said, ‘why can’t we make those doing the wrong things walk away? Why is walking away a ‘one-way traffic’ .”
