Waiguru Again

On Wednesday morning ,the eighth of September 2021,the Governor Kirinyaga County,Anne Waiguru speaking on Citizen Television’s show,Day Break,revealed that if today she vied for the County boss seat through the Jubilee Party ticket it would be difficult to still maintain office. She said,people have lost faith in the Party,“the truth of the matter is that defending my seat if the polls were held today would be difficult,and that is the truth of the matter. Jubilee needs to look internally at its issues in order to be acceptable to the people at Mt Kenya. ”

The minji minji County boss,said that Jubilee Party needs some renovation,a little bit more of beautification. She added that the people needed to feel like they are part of it. She said,the party needs to be taken back to the people so that they have a sense of belonging . However, according to her,the party stands a chance based on its success in matters infrastructure, resources and networks.

On whether she shall join the UDA party Governor Anne Waiguru,was not clear. She said that she is not shutting doors on anything and instead remaining open for possibilities as politics is a game that keeps changing with each minute.

On matters the Head of State and his Deputy’s row, the Governor took no side,but termed it as a sad state of affairs. She added that it is a matter that needs to be looked in to as the citizens and the political class are suffering.

The Governor Kirinyaga County,did shed light on the BBI issue. She said the Mount Kenya region was not supporting the amendment,“… I would be dishonest to say the people of Mt Kenya were behind BBI . They were not .” She said the Constitutional amendments could have favoured the electrorate . She added that the leaders should sit and re-stratigise on the BBI agenda.
