Follow the Jaramogi way – Raila to Ruto.

The plot in the Ruto-resignation story keeps getting thicker. The Head of State, recently asked his deputy to resign if he was unhappy. This was followed by an uproar from the Deputy President’s allies ,and some were heard saying ,he is just being accused of unhappiness. The Orange Democratic Movement leader,Raila Odinga ,speaking to vernacular radio stations on ,Friday,27th August ,2021 also challenged the Vice president, William Ruto to resign,in case the government is causing him unhappiness. He added that,he won’t be the first to resign as a deputy president. He said that his father, the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga ,also resigned as the first deputy president. This was when he saw that he wasn’t being assigned any duties by the then President ,the late ,Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. The ODM leader said ,’ this is not the first time we are having a vice president, my father was not fired by Kenyatta. He realized that he was not being assigned duties and wrote his resignation to the president. ‘

The leader of the Orange Democratic Movement,likened the Uhuruto relationship to that of Siamase twins. Saying The Deputy Head of State can not be in government and keep fighting it whenever it favours him politically. He added that the Deputy Head of State ,only becomes a member of government for the good while the bad is Raila and Uhuru’s portion. This he said is unfair,” Yale mabaya yote ni Raila na Uhuru,but Yale mazuri Yuko ndani. Huyu ni makamu wa raisi, ni kama Siamase twins kwa Sababu walifunga ndoa ya miaka mitano. Jamaa Yuko kwa serikali lakini kila kitu anapinga.’

Speaking on matters BBI ,the former Prime Minister said that him and the Head of State agreed to accept the judgement. He however ,said that this should not bar any Kenyan from moving to court. He said that the Kenyan citizens were involved from the beginning of the process. He said ,the failure of the BBI just denies some parts of the country a share in the national cake,’ kifutiliwa mbali kwa reporti ya BBI,kunahatarisha baadhi ya maeneo mbunge kuondolewa kwa kukosa idadi ya wapigaji kura wanaohitajika….pia Kuna baadhi ya maeneo yatokosa pesa kulingana na wingi wa wapigaji kura. ” He likened the push and pull to that of the multiparty-ism. He said ,although it had been denied at first, today Kenyans enjoy its fruits.

The ODM leader asked those who were elected through the Jubilee Party and are now in the newly formed UDA to resign,terming this as hypocrisy . The legislatures to whom the shoe fits should resign and seek to be elected again under their new parties.
