B. B. I Miscalculations .

Mkenya akijaribu kuelewa building billionaires initiative.

The Building Bridges Initiative ,the firt born child of the handshake seems to be ailing. The babies’ parents had overestimated its potential among its ability to expand the executive to five members.

However , following the court’s verdict that killed the initiative, the President is now in a labryinth . At the moment the only possible positions are that of the presidential candidate and his running mate, as there is no position for the Prime Minister and his deputies. This, therefore, means that the other political giants will have to let go of their presidential ambitions to support one of them.

The five positions ,would have worked in favour of the ODM leader,Raila Odinga as the other principals would easily have taken the other slots. As it stands at the moment, the One Kenya Alliance leaders : Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi and Moses Wentangula are all eyeing the big sit.

The leaders have been meeting with the President who seems to be having so much power in the succession plan. However, the meetings have been bearing no fruits . The leaders are claiming to have supported Raila’s presidential bid, and it is now their turn. The big question is who among them is powerful enough to outdo the Deputy President, William Ruto, a.k.a the hustlers president ?

Statements from other politicians for instance Kakamega’s Senator, Cleopas Malala ‘ we have told Mudavadi that he should not bargain for anything less than being the alliance’s flag bearer . Worse still, we will not agree to have him support Raila for another stab at the presidency. If he agrees to that,it will be a personal decision and he will be on his own. “ Kitui Senator ,Enoch Wambua also shared the same sentiment that it is time they tried something new for change , he said ,” we feel we should try Kalonzo this time round . ”

The ball is now in the president’s court, will he finally get his calculations right and be able to choose the right candidate ? Will the OKA and ODM leader finally agree on a candidate that will give them victory ? Perhaps all this miscalculation is working in favour of the vice president ? This is a question whose answer is time…
